Making a Game in Unity 043: New Netcode

Making a game in Unity 043: new netcode

In this indie devlog I converted the pirate game’s netcode to the new and improved multiplayer solution that I’ve been working on for the past few months. It makes setting up a server and connecting clients to it much quicker and easier, plus it’s more reusable!

I still have a lot of work to do before this networking solution is completely ready, but once it is, I’ll definitely be making a tutorial about it 🙂

Additionally, I flattened the waves around islands, which was long overdue, and I made it possible to repair your ship when it takes damage.

As always, if you’re interested in more videos like this, leave a like (it really helps out with the YouTube algorithm), and consider subscribing. Also, come check out the Discord server where you can share your progress, ask for help, and hang out with other game developers.
